Writing – Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to give my suggestions about how to solve the new problematic about the university’s plastic bottle consumption.

My idea is to provide each student with a free, reusable plastic bottle with the university’s logo, along with installing refill stations across campus. This could not only immediately help to cut down bottle consumption, but it could also promote our university as an environment-friendly institution due to the logo.

A way to help our students to cooperate with this proposal, would be to introduce recycling machines onto campus, just like the ones present on supermarkets, which give a certain amount of credit, one that the students could then use to purchase items from the cafeteria, for example.

I wholeheartedly believe that this proposal could work to solve our dilemma, and, at the same time, boost the university’s public image to society.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully,

Lynn Howell

L&S HW: Improvement plan for income per capita

  1. Invest in education and job skills training, especially for lower income groups. This will help more people qualify for higher paying jobs and increase productivity. The government could provide funding for trade schools, career training programs, and scholarships for university.
  2. Support entrepreneurship and small business growth as engines of job creation. Making it easier to start a business through less bureaucracy and regulations could encourage more entrepreneurs. Providing tax incentives, loans, or grants to small businesses can help them grow faster.
  3. Improve infrastructure and connectivity between rural areas and urban hubs of economic activity. Better roads, bridges, digital access, electricity, and transportation links removes barriers for people to access jobs and markets to sell goods. This facilitates economic growth nationwide.
  4. Provide tax incentives or credits to companies hiring young people, bringing on apprentices, or providing certified skills training. This helps lower unemployment for youth while developing Chile’s future workforce.
  5. Attract foreign direct investment through business-friendly policies. Multinational companies bring jobs and transfer knowledge locally. Streamlining bureaucracy and improving transparency encourages quality FDI inflows.

The focus is on human capital development, empowering local businesses, upgraded infrastructure, and targeted incentives – all aimed at sustainably enhancing productivity, employment rates, wages, and opportunity for Chileans. This is a starting point, but implementation of these initiatives can help improve income per capita. Please let me know if you would like me to elaborate on any part of this proposal.
